Finally, I came to the Italian American Club in Las Vegas. It is a place of tradition… of respect… of things done the right way. I began with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Large. Fresh. Properly prepared. Nothing excessive. Nothing careless. Just as it should be. For the main course, I had our server Andrea, order for me... She got me the Veal Marsala. It was tender, full of flavor, served with fresh mixed vegetables and red roasted potatoes. Balanced. Honest. There is no need to speak loudly when the food speaks for itself. This is old-school Vegas. A place that remembers who it is. They have been here since the early 1960s, and you do not last that long without earning loyalty. If you are in Las Vegas, you should come here. Some places offer food. This place offers great food,, history, and tradition.

This and the Peppermill are authentic old Las Vegas experiences. Batista's Hole in the Wall used to be one I always recommended but I haven't been back since they reopened. I loved the Italian American Club! Has live music that was pretty good the night we were there. No one famous, but he was quite good anyway. Staff was very attentive even though they were busy. I can't quite give the food full stars because I thought it could be just a bit better even if it isn't the most expensive place in town. For example, the starter bread was nice, but the flavored butter wasn't very flavorful and they didn't have spiced olive oil to go with it like some places do. My dad had the porterhouse steak which was cooked correctly, but had a huge bone down the middle of it which is unusual for that cut. My lobster ravioli had very good sauce, but lacked lobster flavor and I don't think I came across any pieces of lobster meat in it. It's still certainly worth the drive from the Las Vegas Strip or Fremont to dine here. In fact, the fact that it isn't right on those noisy crowded streets is part of its charm.
